Certain changes have had to be made in the day to day running of our Summer Camp
this year:
  • There will be a reduction in camp capacity in line with the HSE and Government COVID-19 recommendations and guidelines. The number of children permitted at each of our camp venues will be reduced to comply with the best social distancing practices.
  • There will also be a reduction in group sizes and our activity leaders will remain with the same group for the entire week. Participants will not be permitted to mix with other groups. All children will be assigned to a specific group on the first day of camp. Under no circumstances will a child be allowed to move to another group at any stage during the camp. We will ensure that friends remain together.
  • To protect parents, children and our staff, we will be operating a contactless drop off and pick up throughout all camp venues. Drop off times will be staggered from 9.30-10.00 and the camp will begin at 10am. The camp will finish at 3pm and pick up times will be staggered from 3.00 to 3.30.
  • Parents / Guardians will be notified of the specifics in advance of the first day of camp. We would ask you to adhere to these throughout the week.
  • If a parent/guardian needs to gain access to the facilities at any time during the day, prior notice needs to be given to the camp manager on duty.
  • To comply with HSE social distancing best practices, modifications have been made to our activity programme. We will continue to have an educational, fun-filled and action packed day. The programme will operate outdoors as much as possible. Under the current guidelines, we will not be able to offer any water activities and the use of our inflatables will be limited. There will be one group at each activity at a time.
  • Each child will need to bring their own hand sanitizer for the duration of the camp. Each Camp Leader will also be provided with hand sanitizer for their group, and will ensure that each participant/group follows the proper guidelines for hand hygiene.
  • There will also be a Covid-19 officer on site at each venue to ensure that COVID-19 guidelines are followed each day, and that areas are cleaned regularly as well as disinfecting equipment after each use. Posters and camp reminders will be placed around each venue for the attention of each participant.
  • All staff at Adventure World will be trained on best hygiene practice and to ensure that each participant has a safe and fun week.
  • If anyone is displaying COVID-19 symptoms within camp, a parent/guardian will be contacted immediately. They will be provided with a mask and isolated from the group until they can be collected. Adventure World will complete an incident report and comply with any HSE requests.
